Happy Holidays

Happy Holidays!

Riley County wishes everyone a wonderful Holiday season!

Whether you are staying home, hosting holiday parties or traveling, we encourage everyone to stay warm, safe and healthy during this joyous, and sometimes stressful, time of year.  Here are a few tips to keep in mind:

  • Stay warm!
    • Cold temperatures can cause serious health problems, especially in infants and older adults. Stay dry and dress in layers.
  • Travel Safely
    • Whether going on long trips or short, use common sense.  Don't drink and drive and don't let others drink and drive.  Wear a seat belt and make sure your child is restrained properly, be it in a car set or safety belt.
  • Manage Stress
    • Balance work, home, family and friends.  Stay positive and relaxed.  Avoid staying up all night, everyone needs their sleep!
  • Handle and Prepare Food Safely
    • Wash hands and surfaces often. Avoid cross-contamination by keeping raw meat, poultry, seafood and eggs away from ready-to-eat foods and eating surfaces.  Cook food at the proper temperature, refrigerate promptly and do not leave perishable foods out for more than two hours.
