For his Eagle Scout project, Chris Hill, a Boy Scout with Troop 74, Manhattan, Kansas, did research into the history of the Bluemont School and several other interesting buildings in its neighborhood, developed a route for a walking tour, and wrote a guide booklet. The project was completed with a public tour of the Bluemont School Neighborhood on October 14, 2001.
