At the present time, Riley County does not have building codes.  However, a building permit application shall be made and a permit obtained prior to the start of any construction, moving, remodeling, or reconstruction of any structure which will increase the footprint of the ground.  Building permit applications must be submitted in person.  Faxed or mailed applications will not be accepted.  The fees for a building permit are as follows:  Single Family Residence - $100; Commercial/Industrial Building - $150; Accessory Structure (Residential) - $50; Accessory Structure (Commercial) $75.  More information can be found in the Guide to Building.
