Public Works Administration

What we do...

The Public Works Department involves many divisions with many sections within these divisions. The employees in the administration group consist of the Director of Public Works/County Engineer, Assistant Director of Public Works/Assistant County Engineer, three (3) Engineering Technicians, Administrative Services Manager, Tech Assistant/Training Coordinator, six (6) Administrative support staff and two (2) Engineering Interns.

These employees provide the necessary planning, direction and oversight for the following divisions:

Major functions include:

  • project planning and development
  • Auto Cad drafting
  • providing assistance to Townships
  • construction and inspection of projects
  • maintenance and repairs associated with gravel and paved roads along with bridges and box culverts
  • installation and maintenance of traffic signs
  • traffic studies
  • safety and training programs
  • maintenance of county vehicles and equipment
  • customer relations
  • accounting
  • data entry
  • resource allocation
  • asset management
  • recycling and disposal of municipal solid waste
  • historical record preservation
  • facilities repairs & maintenance
  • custodial activities
  • management of sewer, water and pavement benefit districts
