Riley County WIC staff are serving all clients remotely (by phone and email) out of our Manhattan and Fort Riley offices. We will continue serving all Manhattan, Fort Riley and Pottawatomie County clients remotely from these offices through May 2021.
Irwin Army Community Hospital, and thus our WIC office there, is open to the public; however, the FCRC building in Manhattan and our WIC office there is closed to the public. If clients have an upcoming appointment with either office, we will contact them in advance. However, if clients or others have questions, please call us at the numbers indicated below.
For Manhattan or Wamego, please call: 785-776-4779 ext. 7661.
For Fort Riley, please call: 785-240-7019
Anyone wishing to apply for WIC may fill out the pre-qualification form above. After you submit the form, WIC staff will contact you at our earliest convenience.
WIC provides a debit card with food benefits and other nutrition services to income-eligible pregnant, breastfeeding, postpartum women, infants, and children up to age five. Those who have lost jobs temporarily during the pandemic may now be eligible and we encourage you to apply. We are accepting new applicants.
Our goal is to continue to serve WIC clients and keep families and WIC staff safe.
Electronic Debit Cards
WIC has switched from checks to Electronic Benefit Cards! All clients are now receiving debit cards instead of checks.
WIC income eligibility guidelines (pdf) are:
- $31,894 annually for a household of two
- $40,182 annually for a household of three
- $48,470 annually for a household of four
- $56,758 annually for a household of five
We encourage you to take advantage of all that WIC has to offer. Call to apply.
