WIC provides a debit card with food benefits and other nutrition services to income-eligible pregnant, breastfeeding, postpartum women, infants, and children up to age five. Those who have lost jobs temporarily during the pandemic may now be eligible and we encourage you to apply. We are accepting new applicants.

Income Eligibility

WIC income eligibility guidelines (pdf) are:

  • $33,874 annually for a household of two
  • $42,606 annually for a household of three
  • $51,338  annually for a household of four
  • $60,070 annually for a household of five

INFO ABOUT RECALL OF POWDER FORMULAS

Abbott manufacturing is initiating a proactive, voluntary recall of powder formulas, including Similac®, Alimentum® and EleCare® manufactured in Sturgis, Mich., one of the company’s manufacturing facilities.

What Parents and Caregivers Should Do

WIC clients are able to temporarily use their WIC benefits to purchase alternative brands and sizes of formula for Similac Advance, Similac Total Comfort, Similac Sensitive, and Similac Spit Up.  See available substitutions: 

The products under recall have a multidigit number on the bottom of the container starting with the first two digits 22 through 37, contains K8, SH, or Z2 and with an expiration date of April 1, 2022, or after.photo of the bottom of a baby formula can with numbers

To find out if the product you have is included in this recall, visit similacrecall.com and type in the code on the bottom of the package, or call +1-800-986-8540 (U.S.) and follow the instructions provided. No action is needed for previously consumed product. If you have questions about feeding your child, contact your healthcare professional.

RILEY COUNTY WIC COVID-19 INFO

Riley County WIC staff are serving all Riley County, Pottawatomie County, and Fort Riley clients remotely (by phone and email) out of our Manhattan and Fort Riley offices through July 2022. 

If clients have an upcoming appointment, we will contact them in advance. However, if clients or others have questions, please call us at the numbers indicated below.

WIC has switched from checks to Electronic Benefit Cards!  All clients are now receiving debit cards instead of checks.
