The Victim/Witness Program of the Riley County Attorney's Office is designed to answer questions and provide assistance to you in dealing with the criminal justice system.
Plea hearings may be scheduled if plea negotiations have been entered into. If you are a victim of a person crime, you will be notified and your input sought before plea negotiations are completed.
If you are seeking restitution for damages, you must submit proof of loss to the Victim/Witness Coordinator by returning your completed Victim Impact Statement with copies of all applicable bills, receipts, etc.
Notices of hearings will be sent to victims if we have current addresses. It is not required that you attend all hearings unless you have a subpoena. In preparation, you may be asked to meet with the prosecutor to discuss the proceedings and the events of the crime.
