Victim-Witness Program

The Victim/Witness Program of the Riley County Attorney's Office is designed to answer questions and provide assistance to you in dealing with the criminal justice system.

  • Plea hearings may be scheduled if plea negotiations have been entered into. If you are a victim of a person crime, you will be notified and your input sought before plea negotiations are completed.
  • If you are seeking restitution for damages, you must submit proof of loss to the Victim/Witness Coordinator by returning your completed Victim Impact Statement with copies of all applicable bills, receipts, etc.
  • Notices of hearings will be sent to victims if we have current addresses. It is not required that you attend all hearings unless you have a subpoena. In preparation, you may be asked to meet with the prosecutor to discuss the proceedings and the events of the crime.
