This board will meet monthly. Meetings will be open to the public, but the schedule has not been established yet.
The Rural Economic Development Advisory Board shall provide policy recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) and shall have the following duties:
- Review and provide recommendations to the BOCC on Rural Economic Development Strategies and possible Economic Development Incentive Policies;
- Advise the BOCC on the attraction and expansion of business, retail, industrial, agricultural, and commercial development which is consistent with the County's comprehensive plan;
- Review and provide recommendations to the BOCC regarding Economic Development policies, rules, regulations, and other matters relating to the economic development program of Riley County, as directed by the BOCC; and
- Collaborate with other governmental agencies, non-profit, and for-profit organizations in the advancement of economic development programs and projects, as directed by the BOCC.
