Wildcat Park is located on Wild Cat Creek at 2001 W 62nd Ave., about three miles west of Manhattan. It was designed and built in 1973 when surplus property from the Fort Riley Military Reservation was conveyed to Riley County for public park and recreation purposes by the U.S. Government.
Wildcat Park is maintained as a wilderness area that flourishes with well established trees and extensive plantings of natural wildlife cover that make the site very desirable for viewing native wild animals, birds, and plant life of all kinds. Wild Cat Creek flows along the southern edge of Wildcat Park. There are tables and a campfire ring provided near the stream for picnicking. Motor vehicles are not allowed in the park except for access by the handicapped.
