(RILEY COUNTY, KS – April 27, 2020) Riley County residents now have access to an online survey to report their health condition to the Riley County Health Department (RCHD). People should complete the survey for every member of the household, whether or not they currently have symptoms of COVID-19.

Take the online survey at www.rileycountyks.gov/covidsurvey

More data about the health of the community will help the RCHD track the spread of COVID-19 to align response resources and make decisions about how and when to lift some restrictions.

The information gathered by the survey is confidential and will only be used to determine how the coronavirus is spreading locally. The RCHD will not ask any information about finances, bank accounts, insurance, or anything unrelated to health and contact information. D

“While we’ve been working closely with the medical community to ensure as many people can be tested as possible, we know we aren’t reaching everyone,” said Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coordinator Andrew Adams. “The survey should only take a few minutes to complete and we ask that you answer all of the questions accurately and completely.”

People will be asked to share their contact information so that anyone with the symptoms of COVID-19 can be contacted by the Riley County Health Department for follow up. While staff from RCHD may contact you for follow up, you should still seek medical care immediately if you need it. The survey is not intended to replace medical care or advice from a doctor.

Anyone who needs medical advice can call the Riley County Health Department’s Screening Hotline to speak with a nurse at 785-323-6400. The Screening Hotline is staffed every day from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. If you have an emergency, call 911.
