The more an individual interacts with others, and the longer that interaction, the higher the risk of COVID-19 spread. The risk of COVID-19 spread increases in a restaurant or bar setting. Fortunately, there are a number of actions operators of restaurants and bars can take to help lower the risk of COVID-19 exposure and spread. (CDC info https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/organizations/business-employers/bars-restaurants.html)

As of August 7, 2020. at least 27% of all positive cases in Riley County have been linked to bars and restaurants. This includes 70 employees and more than 52 patrons.

A total of 20% of positive cases have been linked specifically to Aggieville. There have been four separate outbreak declarations in Aggieville, which represents half of the outbreaks declared in Riley County. This includes 44 employees as well as 52 unique individuals (non-employee patrons who reported being in Aggieville on at least 1 occasion during the 2 weeks prior to symptom onset).

If we work together, and limit the type of behavior linked to virus spread, we help protect the community.
