If you test positive for COVID-19 please stay home.
The Riley County Health Department will reach out to you to do contact tracing and follow-up to make sure you’re ok, but that process could take a few days. Please see the graphic below for advice about what to do in the meantime.
If you are having trouble breathing or experiencing an emergency, please call 911 immediately.
Here’s a little info about the timeline for contact tracing:
It could take about 24 hours (sometimes longer) before RCHD receives your test result. From there, your case gets assigned to a case investigator. Depending on the case load it can take up to 72 hours after the results have been reported before we reach out to you.
We are doing our best to contact patients in a timely manner. Unfortunately, with the recent rise in case numbers our department has fallen behind.
Please be patient with us as we work as efficiently as possible. If you have not received a phone call from RCHD and it has been at least 72 hours after you got your positive test result, please call the health department contact tracing line at 785-565-6558 so we can offer guidance and support. Please also feel free to call your doctor or healthcare professional for advice.
