(RILEY COUNTY, KS – March 30, 2022) Riley County identified 8 new COVID-19 cases and 17 additional recoveries in Week 12 (March 20 - 26). There are currently eight active COVID-19 cases in the county.

Zero COVID-19 patients are currently hospitalized at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan.

Percent positive information is no longer available as the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has updated their reporting procedures for COVID-19 testing. Labs will no longer be required to report negative test results, only positive results which is the same process used for all other infectious diseases in the United States. Individuals are still entitled to receive the results of their COVID-19 testing, whether they are positive or negative, but only the numbers of positive results will be shared with local and state health departments and the CDC to be included in reporting statistics.

Starting this week, the Riley County Health Department reports will include active cases, current hospitalizations, recoveries, total positive cases, deaths, and incidents per 100,000 people. The current population of Riley County is about 72,000 people so the rate per 100,000 will be higher than the reported case numbers.
