(RILEY COUNTY, KS - June 7, 2022) At 5:41 a.m. Tuesday morning, Riley County Fire District #1 (RCFD#1) and Manhattan Fire Department were dispatched to a structure fire located at 530 Pine Alley in Ogden. Upon arrival, crews found an unoccupied trailer home fully involved with fire.
A total of 10 volunteer firefighters and RCFD#1 personnel from stations 103, 104, 115, and 116 responded along with personnel from the Manhattan Fire Department. The City of Ogden assisted with heavy equipment to pull the roof off the collapsed structure and allow firefighters to saturate remaining embers. The trailer home was a complete loss and neighboring structures received some exterior damage to siding.
No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time, but lighting strikes have been confirmed in the area.
The owner is listed as the Maplewind Community mobile home park. According to a property management representative on scene, the trailer home was unoccupied and scheduled to be removed from the site.
