Standard childhood immunizations for diseases such as Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chickenpox), Diptheria, and Tetanus are required for school and daycare. If your child hasn't been vaccinated yet, we're here to help them get ready for the school year.

Walk-in appointments are available at the health department, located at 2030 Tecumseh Road or you can call us at (785) 776-4779 ext. 7675 to schedule an appointment or ask a question. A parent or guardian must be present.

It’s important to note that only COVID-19 vaccinations are free.

Other vaccinations can be billed to insurance. The health department accepts most major health insurance (except Tricare Prime and Cigna). We are not a free clinic, but those WITHOUT health insurance will only pay $20 for the first vaccination and $18 for each additional vaccination. There is also financial assistance available for those with demonstrated financial need.

We’re open:

  • Mon-Wed: 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Thurs: noon – 6 p.m.
  • Fri: 8:30 - 11 a.m.
