As we quickly enter respiratory virus season, the Riley County Health Department encourages you to protect yourself and your loved ones by immunizing against the flu, COVID, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) this fall.
You can now get your flu vaccine (for all approved ages) and RSV vaccine (for ages 60+) from the Health Department! We have pre-booked the new formulation of COVID vaccines and hope to receive them from the manufacturer soon. Likewise, we are targeting the first week of October to begin offering Beyfortus (nirsevimab-alip), an antibody product that can help protect infants from RSV while they are most susceptible.
Our annual Oct-flu-berfest will be October 12, from 3- 6 p.m., at 2101 Claflin Road in Manhattan. We will offer free flu shots to all ages at this event. Likewise, we intend to have COVID vaccines available at this event. Please stay tuned for more details!
Walk-ins are welcome at the Public Health Clinic. People can also schedule appointments by calling (785) 776-4779 ext. 7675.
Riley County Health Department contracts with most major insurers in the region, excluding Ambetter, Cigna, ChampVA, and TRICARE Prime. Please bring your ID and, if insured, your insurance card when arriving for a vaccine.
We wish you a happy and healthy fall season!
