(RILEY COUNTY, KS - January 26, 2024) Volunteer firefighters from Riley County Fire District #1 were dispatched to reports of a structure fire near Randolph last night at 5:30 PM. Upon arrival, crews found a mobile home mostly involved in fire with smoke and flames visible.

One person was home at the time of the fire and was able to escape without injury. Unfortunately, the mobile home was a total loss. The owners of the property are listed as Jacob Gallimore and Caylee Brenner Gallimore.

After extinguishing the fire, volunteer crews remained on scene for three hours to monitor conditions and perform salvage work. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but foul play is not suspected.

“I continue to be impressed by the dedication and commitment shown by our volunteer firefighters,” explained Fire Chief Russel Stukey. “We have a solid group of people who we can count on to show up in any emergency, and their hard work makes Riley County a safer place.”
