Draft to be discussed by Planning Boards
The Riley County Planning and Development Department has been working with a 6-member Billboard Advisory Group and legal counsel over the past several months to prepare proposed amendments to the Riley County Zoning Regulations pertaining to advertising signs (billboards). The members of the advisory group are (in alphabetical order):

The amendments proposed by the Billboard Advisory Group are outlined in the attached Draft Notice of Public Hearing .
The draft notice is scheduled for a discussion before the Manhattan Urban Area Planning Board (MUAPB) on September 6, 2012. The MUAPB meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. and is located in the Manhattan City Commission meeting room at City Hall, 11th & Poyntz in Manhattan, KS.
The draft notice will also be discussed before the Riley County Planning Board (RCPB) on September 10, 2012. The RCPB meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. and is located in the Riley County Commission meeting room in the Courthouse Plaza East building, 115 N. 4th St. in Manhattan, KS.
Formal public hearings regarding the amendments will be scheduled upon direction from the planning boards.
