[ARCHIVED] Flu Shots Available at Health Department

Flu season is nearing once again and Riley County Health Department is preparing to provide flu vaccine to thousands of Riley County residents. The single best way to prevent the flu is by becoming vaccinated. The flu vaccine not only protects the person from the flu, but also prevents the spread of flu in the community.

Almost everyone 6 months and older should get their yearly flu vaccine. Influenza viruses change from year to year. Researchers try and predict the four most common flu viruses for the flu season, and then develop a vaccine to protect against those flu viruses. Since the viruses change every year, people need to receive their flu vaccine every year.

Flu shots are available at the Riley County Health Department (2030 Tecumseh Road) from now until December 31st. All insurances can be billed. To speed up your wait time please fill out the form below prior to coming into the Health Department. Protect the health of yourself and your loved ones by getting a flu shot this year.

Additional influenza specific information can be found on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website and via the documents listed below.
