Winter Weather Awareness Day for northeast Kansas will be Tuesday, December 1, 2015.
The National Weather Service selects a day each fall to remind Kansans of the risks associated with winter weather. Many people often find themselves unprepared for the onset of snow, ice and cold weather that come with the winter season.
Knowledge and preparation are essential to reducing your risk. This year, the focus will be on the hazards associated with driving in ice and snow. Please read the 2015 Winter Weather Release and Climate Records for more information about winter in Kansas.
