The annual Riley County Livestock Association Summer Tour will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2016, starting at 5:00 p.m. at Cross Country Genetics, located nine miles north of Manhattan, KS.
Cross Country Genetics provides beef cattle embryo transfer services. Tour participants will see the company's cattle handling and lab facilities and will learn about the embryo transfer process. Cattle currently onsite for embryo transfer work will also be available for viewing.
To reach the tour site, travel nine miles north on Highway 13 from the Highway 13 & 24 intersection (Dara's), then 1/2 mile east on Michaels Road. The address is 8855 Michaels Road, Westmoreland, KS.
A free supper provided by the Riley County Livestock Association will be served following the tour. Food and table service are provided but participants are asked to bring their own lawn chairs.
