[ARCHIVED] Celebrating 100 Years of History and Heritage

The Riley County Historical Museum (RCHM) centennial exhibit "The Riley County Historical Museum: Celebrating 100 Years of History and Heritage" is open at 2309 Claflin Road in Manhattan.  This centennial celebration exhibit showcases over one hundred artifacts and photographs significant to the history of the Riley County community.  Notable objects include a section of the original seating from the Wareham Opera House, a penny-farthing bicycle owned by Guy Varney and a hand-carved sunflower clock made from local wood for the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893.

The centennial exhibition will run through 2017 (with frequent updates) and will be accompanied by a series of programs.  Please watch for announcements on our website or check the Riley County Historical Society calendar.

The RCHM is open 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Admission is free for all!
