The Riley County Appraiser’s Office has completed the 2017 Change of Value Notices (CVNs) for each of the approximately 25,000 real estate parcels in the county. The CVNs, which will be mailed February 15th, reflect changes in property values due to our local real estate market. The CVNs provide both the current and previous year’s value, a brief explanation of the valuation process, and explanations of the appeal process. The CVNs also include a form that can be sent to the Appraiser’s Office for purposes of scheduling an informal appeal.
A contact phone number, 785-537-6316, has been established for those who wish to schedule the appeal by phone. Property owners may also visit the Appraiser’s Office during office hours, 8:00 am-5:00 pm Monday-Friday, with questions or to schedule an appeal. Property owners will have until March 16th to schedule appeals.
Property data can be accessed through the County’s website at: www.rileycountyks.gov/parcel/. Sales data can be accessed through the website during the appeals sign-up period only, February 15-March 16th. To access individual properties’ information on-line, including sales data, individuals may go to: On-line Services>Appraisal Data, and log-in. The temporary 30 day User Name (informal) and Password (appeal) can be used through March 16th.
